Autosampler Vials & Closures
How do you choose the right autosampler vials and closures? There are 4 steps manufacturers universally agree will help you get to the right product.
Start with the closures
Screw thread closures are widely used for HPLC and LCMS. They’re easy, straightforward, and don’t require any special tools to use. They provide a better seal than snap tops, and are preferred when volatile solvents are involved.
Snap tops are a choice of convenience. If hundreds of samples need capping at once, it’s fast and easy. And if the diluent/solvent is water near room temperature, the snap top is just fine.
If your instrument requires a magnetic seal, crimp closures/caps are required.
*Hot tip - to reduce or eliminate problems making a proper seal, use an adjustable crimper.
